What is the ideal time for VCUG and
DMSA
scan in a neonate with a suspected post-urethral valve?

Expert Answer :
VCUG must be performed as soon as possible after birth. Until VCUG is performed, give the infant antibioprophylaxis. For the DMSA, you can wait at least 6 months or more.

USG should be done first .If creatinine is normal then after 48 hours catheterisation and VCUG , If creatinine is more than 1.7 then immediate catheterisation and VCUG after 48 hours. DMSA scan after a month.
