How can we treat dental caries in children under 7 years old?
5
Expert Answer :
Dental Caries is usually treated with fillings.
The decayed tooth is radiographed to assess the extent of destruction caused by decay, and then it is drilled or excavated, and the filling material is placed.
A Pediatric Dentist will approach it differently; the mechanical act of drilling and filling is also accompanied by nutritional counseling and a review of the child`s oral hygiene and brushing.
This is usually a chair-side procedure, though in certain cases, where the decay is extensive, sedation may be required to accomplish the procedure.

it s depend on the type of caries. If it is not deep, i think it would be a fluor paste or may be a dental crown.
i think, as a pediatritian , i ll insist in dental health ( food, brush, dental paste) and visit the odontologist , at least 4 times a year.
