Preterm baby 1.5 kg with persistent hypoglycemia up to 4 weeks of age, serum Glucose 22-40 mg/dl. serum insulin, cortisone, glucagon, growth hormone, normal
The metabolic screen was normal. What do you expect to cause hypoglycemia?

Rule out galactosemia, GSD. Also, rule out Hyperinsulinemia.

hyperinsulinisim should be considered because insulin level must be low during hypoglycaemia. so normal insulin level with hypoglycaemia suspect hyperinsulinemia
