In India, as in many countries, there is a lack of local Hib disease burden data. In India, a number of hospital-based studies have shown that, as in other parts of the world, Hib is generally the most common endemic cause of bacterial meningitis in children.
As per the WHO, all Hib vaccines are equally effective.
