Are IV antibiotics any better than oral antibiotics in cases of bloody dysentery?

No, as you need antibiotics that have local action and not systemic. So even oral antibiotics are useful.

Oral antibiotics, especially metronidazole is preferred more than IV antibiotics. It is followed by a luminal agent, like paramomycin.

i think we need to know the patient for example, the colour of the skin, if it is deshydration, urine, and ask a coproculture. if the clinical conditions aren t good, he_she hosptalized for treatment. if not, we can give oral antibiotics, diet, control.
