Emollients

Mechanism :

Emollients are substances which soften and soothe the skin. They are used to correct dryness and scaling of the skin. They are a key component in the manufacture of lipstick, lotions and other cosmetic products.


Indication :

  • Eczema
  • Ichthyosis

Contraindications :

Known hypersensitivity to any ingredient, particularly preservatives in creams is a contraindication for its use. Emollients should never be dissolved in boiling water, which could result in scalds.


Dosing :

Apply on affected areas to prevent skin from drying.

Adverse Effect :

Burning, stinging, redness, irritation may occur.


Hepatic Dose :
