6 months healthy female baby exclusively breastfed with no growth issues, mother noticed a nodule in the baby's right breast for the last couple of days. It is painless and nodular in consistency akin to breast bud at thelarche. The baby has no systemic signs. What could it be and how to manage it?

Expert Answer :
It may be due to estrogen in the mother. The lump generally goes away on its own as the estrogen clears from the baby`s body. It can happen to boys and girls.

Premature thelarche. Check to look out features of virilization in this girl. If none is present and the baby is well otherwise, reassurance and observation are all those necessary in general.
