Is it true that WIDAL can be a false positive in cases of malaria and dengue, if yes what is the explanation?

Yes, Widal can be positive in malaria and dengue. This is due to non-specific polyclonal B lymphocyte stimulation due to malaria was postulated to be responsible for this phenomenon.
