What to do if a person has received 4 doses of anti-rabies vaccines in the gluteus region? Came to me for the 5th dose, I gave it in the anterolateral thigh. Is it necessary to repeat? In which schedule? There was no follow-up on the dog, whether it had rabies or not.

Expert Answer :
A person receiving the Rabies Vaccine in the gluteal region is likely to be partially protected. He has come for the 5th Dose means after 28 days of the dog bite. If the status of the dog is not known, it would be better to give two more doses of the Rabies Vaccine - one after 3 days and the second after 7 days.
