In a case of hypoxic convulsion and convulsion due to electrolyte imbalance, how long should the anticonvulsant be continued?

in case of hypoxic convulsion the ACT drug should be started for stoping acute convulsion and stabilize the patient by consider the ABCD protocol and for find the reason of convulsion hypoxia due to occulsion or in some cases due to hemmoraghe may be the reaon imaging study especailly MRI advised
in case of convulsion due to electrolyt imbalance the ACT advised for stoping conuslion then you must manage and replace the electrolyte based on hypo/ hyper electrolytemia

In case of HIE, if seizures recurrent, then would depend on result of MRI. Usually would trial off from 72hrs to 1 week after last seizure but if seizures continue to recur, would consult with paeds neuro. in case of electrolytes imbalance, should cease when imbalance corrected and ACT ca be stopped
