The parents of a 15- 16-year-old male child came to me for delayed growth. The child has a weight of 35 kg (Less than 3rd), height of 146 cm (Less than 3rd). I ordered a x-ray BA, which was normal, rest all systemic examination normal, SMR 3-4, CBC, routine IVG normal, TTG awaited, although no h, o to diarrhoea
What are the possibilities, any role of GH, as parents are very worried about the height part, as GH may be given in isolated SS?

Expert Answer :
No Growth Hormone can be given in isolated short stature unless there is a Growth Hormone deficiency. Besides, at that age, success may not be seen. Get the child checked by a pediatric endocrinologist.
