Benzoin

Mechanism :

Benzoin resin or styrax resin is a balsamic resin obtained from the bark of several species of trees in the genus Styrax. It principally contains benzoic acid.


Indication :

  • Antiseptic

Contraindications :

None are known.


Dosing :

To be applied topically on affected area. Do not use it more often than every 2 hours or for longer than 7 days.

Adverse Effect :

Mild irritation, burning, erythema, edema and rash.


Interaction :

There are no known drug interactions with benzoin.



Hepatic Dose :

No dosage adjustments are recommended.
