Thank you for this significant query in practice. The Current Global recommendation is to administer Td in place of TT even for Wound Prophylaxis. In general for Tetanus Prophylaxis the recommendations are as follows:

DTPw, DTPa at 6,10, and 14 weeks 3 primary doses
DTPw, DTPa Boosters at 18 months and 5 years ` A single booster of Tdap at 10 years and Td thereafter every 10 years.

After 7 doses of TT component in Vaccine formulations delineated above at 6,10,14 weeks,18 months,5 years,10 years and every 10 years thereafter we need to administer Td Boosters only at 10 years interval.

Administering repeated doses of TT for trivial injuries may result in the following adverse effects:
1. Reduced Immunogenicity to the TT vaccine component.
2. Hypersensitivity
3. Hemolytic Anemia
4. Amyloidosis of the Liver and
5. Increased risk of Hemorrhagic Disease in the Newborn.
