Methyltestosterone
 Mechanism : 
It is a steroidal male sex hormone, which has anabolic properties and growth of secondary sexual characters in males. It is used in hypogonadism, delayed puberty and hypopituitarism.
 Indication : 
- Delayed puberty in males
 - Hypogonadism in males
 
 Contraindications : 
Allergy, Pregnancy, Cancer of prostrate or breast.
Dosing : 
10 mg orally every day.
 Adverse Effect : 
Edema, acne, breast soreness, virilisation and menstrual abnormalities in females; painful penile erections, precocious puberty, cholestatic jaundice, gynaecomastia and hepatic carcinoma. Prolonged administration may cause short stature in children.
 Interaction : 
Anisindione, Leflunomide, Teriflunomide, Warfarin, Dicumarol.
 Hepatic Dose : 
Mild and moderate hepatic impairment: Use with caution.
Severe hepatic impairment: Use is contraindicated. 
May enhance edema formation which is already present due to hypoalbuminemia in hepatic failure.
