Citrulline

Mechanism :

Citrulline is made from ornithine and carbamoyl phosphate in one of the central reactions in the urea cycle.


Indication :

  • Lysinuric protein intolerance
  • Carbamoyl phosphate synthetase (CPS)
  • Ornithine carbamoyl transferase (OCT) deficiency

Contraindications :

Citrulline is contraindicated in conditions like Pregnancy, Liver damage, Kidney infection, Breast feeding, Hypersensitivity to any component of product.


Dosing :

42.5 mg/kg/dose 4 times daily.

Adverse Effect :

Transient gastric pain.


Interaction :

No known interactions found.



Hepatic Dose :

No dosage adjustments are recommended.
