What is the duration of
Levocetirizine
and
Montelukast
treatment in allergic rhinitis?

Levocetirizine
and
Montelukast
rational?

Expert Answer :

Levocetirizine
is 2nd generation antihistamine. 30 percent will cross the blood-brain barrier. Can be used as long as symptoms {Rhinorrhea, Sneezing, itching} persist. Does not help in obstructive rhinitis.

Montelukast
is beneficial for united airway inflammation from Leukotrieve pathway apart from steroid dependent pathways. Preferable in underline wheezers add on to steroids and exercise induced asthma. Duration as long as asthma is controlled very well and to reduced steroid dose.
- Combination of
Levocetirizine
and
Montelukast
not been rationalized
