Doxylamine
Mechanism :
Like other antihistamines, doxylamine acts by competitively inhibiting histamine at H1 receptors. It also has substantial sedative and anticholinergic effects.

<12 years:
Not recommended
>12 years:
25 mg orally 30 min before bedtime.
Adverse Effect :
Minor anticholinergic effects.
Interaction :
Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs): Prolong and intensify the anticholinergic (drying) effects of antihistamines.
Hepatic Dose :
Dosage reduction may be required as it metabolised in the liver.
